What do I need to know about Microblading? Microblading is a manual method of tattooing. It creates ultra-fine hair strokes in the basal layer of skin to mimic the look of natural hair. The perfect treatment for a natural beauty. Microblading requires annual maintenance, with most people needing a touch-up by one year. Microblading is not suitable for older skin, thin skin, people with rosacea , bleeding disorders or excessive sun damage. There is also a higher ‘failure’ rate with microblading as 90% of people will require a 6 week touch-up. Most people will have around 70% retention after their first appointment. What do I need to know about powder brows? Powder brow/Ombre brow is a soft filled in brow which, once healed, will look like your brows have been filled in with makeup.  It can be soft or very intense and its a better service for those who are not microblading candidates.  Powder brows will last usually 3 years before needing a color refresh. How will it look in a few years? If done properly both microblading and powder brows will fade. Microblading strokes will become soft and less defined. Eventually looking like soft makeup, to almost nothing. Powder brows will continue to lighten over time. There is no guarantee with either service that you will be pigment-free in a few years, although it is more likely if you have oily skin. What is Microneedling?  Microneedling is also known as collagen induction therapy. A machine is used to create micro-traumas in your skin which stimulates your bodies natural healing process. This breaks down scar tissue, melanin deposits and old collagen. Forcing your skin to regenerate itself to a tighter, brighter, more youthful complexion. Will it hurt? Although everybody is different and we cannot guarantee a painless procedure it should be minimal. Most clients are totally comfortable during the process with a max pain of a 2/10. Brow Envy uses products with the highest active numbing ingredients available, and we also numb again during. What is the aftercare for brows? Aftercare is simple. Keep them clean, moisturized and don’t soak them in water. During your healing process it’s important you avoid sun/swimming/sweating and makeup. What is the microneedling downtime like?  Microneedling can give you a red, puffy face for up to 3 days post procedure. Then you will go through a light exfoliation.  After 24 hours you can wear foundation, however, it is advisable to refrain until after your skin has returned to normal.
